Rainy Days and Stormy Knights

It's sunday. Normally we would be eating lunch at some mall after mass then go around to shop or just look. But right now I'm just stranded in my room typing this post on my phone. With no internet or cable to amuse me, I'll just try to post my spur-of-the-moment thoughts here.

It's the rainy season again. The typhoons are coming. Which is why I am cooped up in my room instead of being out where-only-god-knows. Also the storms have left us with no cable television. And internet connections have been shaky at best. I am grateful though, that I got this new phone. It's an HTC Dual Touch Model. So I'm trying to post my blog via mobile. Although I have been encountering signal problems earlier.

Since the weather is bad, expected again are people carrying umbrellas and wearing jackets as they trudge to and fro to work or school. Also expect traffic jams and the inability to get a ride. And of course we have floods. Floods that would strand you in the middle of the side walk and you have no where to go. Even recently I saw boats (yes, boats) along the road (yeesh)

This afternoon, we tried to order to have our food delivered. Unfortunately, the restaurants we ordered from declined to deliver due to the bad weather. So I left the house, took the tricycle to KFC. Along the way though, the tricycle motor "died" because of the flood. So I got down, waited for another one to pass by. In the end, I got back home, food in tow, looking like what we term as a "basang sisiw". I was just glad to be back home.

We were fortunate though, that we have electricity. I mean, some of my friends don't have power in their homes. Some don't even have running water (which for me, is the worst thing to happen).

Storms are really a force of nature to be reckoned with. I've heard about the hurricane that swept the midwest recently. Back here, I hope that the underprivileged can cope. I woke up at 3 a.m. this morning due to the electric sparks that were visible. Scary!

On a lighter note, it's much cooler now. I don't use the aircon much anymore. So goodbye to 7k meralco bills *sigh*. I think we can save half right now hahaha.

Speaking of power bills, did you that the Philippines charges the most expensive with regards to power next to Japan. What the? Japan is one of the richest countries with powerful consumer spending. But us? *sighs again*.

I heard from the news that power will be restored once the angry winds have calmed down. I guess the rainy season is finally here.

Random Thought for Today (06/02/08)

I was listening to the song Apologize by Timbaland featuring One Republic. And then I noticed that Timbaland never even sang one line of the song. My officemate quipped that maybe the "Woah Woah" at the end of the song was sung by him (haha). Usually the one singing is the one credit but I guess this is a first...

I wonder... hmmmmm

Is Everyone Tired of Living right Now?!?

I just read two freaky posts from my friends... one of them posted "Hanggang Dito na Lang... Paalam", the other one's entry in his journal is "I almost killed my self yesterday". Almost meant he was about to drink beer with Rat Poison.

What The?!?

Life is beautiful no matter how many trials and tribulations you encounter. You have a lot of people around who care for you, lots of opportunities to be found outside. Just have faith, and everything will be alright.

I remember a few years back (2003) when I was jobless, neck-deep in debt and a slew of personal problems coming left and right, just like my friends now, I wondered what would happen if I could just end it all, it would be easy right? But then it came to me.... Not only would you go straight to hell, it would cause devastation and sorrow to the people you are leaving behind, your family, your loved ones, your friends. What would happen to them? How would they be affected by the stupid action you would cause?

My family ultimately came to my rescue. Remember, even if your friends desert you... your family will always be there. It was through them you would learn how life is worth living. That the love and care of a person is suffice for one to go beyond their limits and conquer all adversities.

So Don't be stupid to take your own life if you feel you can't go on. Remember, there are people around who love and care for you. These are just trials going on in your life.

And you can't know how sweet being successful without knowing how bitter the taste of failure can be.

I just got home and to my horror I found out that my niece has been arguing with the brother of her boyfriend. To my utter disdain I read the last line of his message was "DAMN YOU". Note that the guy is 25 and my niece is 17. If you are a 25 year old guy would you say that to a girl? Especially when you consider that she is still a teen ager

So me and this idiot text back and forth. The only thing I was concerned about was the curse he said. And here are some of the idiots replies. (He even capitalized everything and in tagalog while I was texting him in english)

"PLEASE ASK UR NIECE TO STAY AWAY FROM MY BROTHER"

I asked why. I even called up but he just rejected my calls. Maybe he doesn't want to be proven wrong or afraid he might mess up so he texted me again

"I DNT NEED 2 XPLAIN NOBODY"

I didn't want to correct him that it should be "I don't need to explain to anybody". If I do that he might just spout some more wrong grammar hahahahaha. I kept explaining to him but I guess given the person he is, it seemed to be hopeless. I just asked him why I he was cursing my niece. I mean I don't even do that to family, what gives him the right to do so.

And he said:

"ALAM MO PARE CURSING AND TELLING SUM1 2 STAY AWAY FROM MY BROTHER ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS"

I said, how about the "Damn You Thingie"

He said:

'Hindi Curse yun pare, Dnt tell me pagka minura mo ako it means you are cursing me"

That is why I even researched the proper definition of curse here. (I highlighted the important items)

And in the end: "CRAP ITONG PINAGUUSAPAN NATIN"

Oh well, I guess people are like these nowadays. Petty, Stupid. I have nothing against Students of high class exclusive schools, but sorry, why is it the people I encounter from this school is an asshole one way or another. Please prove me wrong.

And to that Idiot I'm texting. Please grow up...

What The?!? I think my nose is bleeding...

Arrrrggggh..... What the?

Trying to get a quick break from work, I was browsing around. Then I saw a shoutout at friendster... what the hell? Is there a new meaning of magistrate that I don't know of?

"maNy g!rls adSum ENVY at me..MAGISTRATE & ABHOR mE.. bUt ! dOn't cAre!!!! I have my oWn L!fe & stYLe... And F yOu tHnK u'r sO h!ghEr dAn mE??? FUCK!!! u'r wRong g!rL... nO OnE cAn LeVeL mE uP!!!!"

Sigh! guess it's true, the Population of the World is growing, but the sum of the intelligence on this planet remains a constant

But don't they have spelling and grammar checkers nowadays?

There are some bloggers who posted stuff similar to this:
http://porkyvore.com/porkyfun/picture-posts/abominable-friendster-profiles-i/

Hmmm... How does one get "leveled up" anyway?

Summer Heat! (03/30/2008)

Three Words: "IT'S SO HOT!"

The past few weeks are what I dub as "Hell On Earth". Summer has finally come, and it isn't as pleasant as it seems. Temperatures rising, desperate times call for desperate measures as I open my aircon again and for longer than usual. I go to work and as I walk along the sidewalk it feels that I'm melting (melting, melting).

Well at least I have airconditioning. My aircon broke down last year at the peak of summer so I spent my time sneaking into my mom's room just to get some cold air hehehehe.

Well since it's summer, it means that people are flocking to beaches. I don't get it though. Why do people go to hot places such as beaches during the summer when it is really HOT!. Oh well, go with the flow hehehehe.

Although I have plans to go to the beach as well. This april, me and my friends plan to go to Puerto Galera, the Philippines' overcrowded beach with the night life on the side ehehehehe. There we would spend our weekend drinking ourselves to oblivion then dunking our heads in the cold water to sober up again (HAHAHAHA!). We would also bikini watch, and compare notes hehe; then ride the banana boat and get thrown out of it. Of course we would stay out late to enjoy the nightlife there. Afterwards I will take a day of sick work because I was too tired partying (just kidding).

On May I would go with my folks (my sister is coming home) to Bohol. It would be my first time there. I would finally see chocolate hills (yehey!) although I don't think it chocolatey any more haha. Then see the choir singing along Loboc River. See the sights again. At least I would have the time to travel. All I do is work nowadays (Although I wanna go to Boracay or Palawan again before the year ends).

Despite the heat, I'm gonna make my summer worthwhile. Just as long as I wouldn't be burnt into a crisp afterwards *bleh*

Thought for Today! (03/08/2008)

It's been a while since I posted anything here. Been busy with work and other whatnot hehehe. If I have the time, I might be able to post something noteworthy... but not right now. I just feel like rambling on and on and on without any sense whatsoever.

Oh well, It's March, and it's still cold... talk about the summer coming. Although my sister and her brother in law would come here this May and we would accompany them to Bohol for a three day/two night vacation. I might join my friends this coming April (or May) to Puerto Galera. I think the last time I was with these guys there was way back 2006, where we drank the so-called "Mindoro Sling" and feasted on fish balls for pulutan. And who could ever forget the people who say things when they are drunk... Those were the days hahahahahaha.

It's holy week next week and It's time to reflect back on what we did. I remember the time when me and my folks go to baclaran church every holy thursday and eat at jollibee or dunkin donuts afterwards hehehehehe. I used to think that going to baclaran is far when I was a kid. When I realized that I used to commute from makati to alabang to work before made me think differently (also during the time when I go to Manila Memorial during All Saints Day... I compained that it was far... then I realized that I was working somewhere farther hehehehe). Well holy week doubles as vacation time for me since we will have a longer weekend. Although I would stay home since everybody out there is going somewhere and it would be quiet for a change hahahahahaha. Although holy week isn't so holy anymore with the advent of cable television (oh well)

How time flies fast. I just reminisced on my stay at Summerset Olympia during the new year and now its almost april... Soon, it will be christmas again (haha)

Till next time! :)

Sunday, December 30, 2007

As of this writing it will be 1 day, 3 hours and 49 minutes until the new year. So right now, I'm making up a list of Resolutions for the year 2008. So far I have only 3 goals to fulfill right now (the important ones anyway):

1. Live a Healthy life. I'm not getting any younger, so my health will need to take priority. So no more late nights, not too much carbohydrates (I'm Mr. Extra Rice) hahahahaha. I will make it a point to exercise a lot and eat healthy food. I do have become to like Ampalaya a lot more than usual though. Like I said to my friend... I'll be 170 lbs and have a 32 inch waistline by the end of 2008 (I'm 5'10" by the way)

2. Work doubly hard. Of course with age, goes with experience. I need to go up the executive ladder as well. I am aging physically, so I guess in time my career too would progress. But in this case, this is one type of progression that I want to go really fast. I need to get my zest and get really motivated again. Sink my teeth into something challenging so that I would enjoy my work and love it even more.

3. Be more financially stable. I have dug myself into a rut a few years ago due to irresponsibility and other personal problems (and gold diggers
... hehe). Well I have climbed out of that hole I have dug myself into slowly but surely. And one of my goals for the year is to be debt free and financially well off (like way back 2000 when I was on top of the world). So In a few years I'm gunning for a car of my own as well. Slowly but surely I'm getting there.

Year 2007 was an average year for me. I just hope that 2008 would a better one for me.

Pressure for Breakfast... Stress for Lunch...

I think I need another vacation. Well I have 3 projects staring me at my face and another one in the works... I haven't been having a diet of pressure and stress in a while so it's an experience that I have to get used to... Again...

Well all this work has rendered me sick again... I think I have used 4 sick leave days for the month of may. Maybe it's the weather, or maybe I'm just a bit stressed. Either way, its not healthy...But I'll get used to it, I guess... I have been here before after all.

I used to eat pressure for breakfast and stress for lunch haha. I guess my skills and experience will be tested again...

And yes... I'm raring to go at it again... Fight!!!!

Soliloquy of Sadness

Sadness

For some reason... I feel sad today.... it's like there is this big black cloud hovering just above me...

Well work has been good so far... and I have been productive in my craft... I just feel that there is something missing that was there before...

Also, I feel like I don't belong anymore... dunno, maybe because it's just because of the absence from my peers... or something else....

I wonder if anyone would miss me if I'd be gone... sometimes I just want that affirmation that I am wanted... I am needed...

It seems that I am back on my Wandering days... Well I am the Wandering Knight of Solitude after all...

Summer is Over... Rainy Days are here again...

The Nutcase Club

Oh well, the summer is finally over, and so are the out of town trips to boracay and puerto galera (for the moment). The rains have started falling, and the weather now is cooler albeit annoying (Think of the Traffic Jams).

It was good while it lasted. The hot sun, the cool waters, the white sand and the multitude of people walking alongside you at the coast. Not to mention the eye candy around as well. Lotsa Eye Candy (haha).

I also experienced a lot of peer bonding this summer. I got to see my friends almost everyday. I also got to see every aspect of their personality: their moods, their frustrations; what brightens their eyes or what sets them off. Especially during those out of town trips and the sleepovers. Whew!

Well looks like everything is settling back to normalcy. My mind isn't on vacation anymore (haha) and its time to focus my energies on these projects that were assigned to me. Somehow, the summer helped me overcome the burnout and have the zest to come back to the salt mines (aka work).

This summer was very memorable, and one of the happiest times (to date) that happened this year...

Till the next summer!

In Silence...

It has been a while since I have made any posts to my blog. Well, its just most of my time is occupied with work and friends that I rarely be alone with my thoughts. I guess that this is a good time as now to put most of my thoughts into writing.

The year 2005 has been a year of ups and downs for me. I got a new job and became good at it. Not to mention that I think that I would finally settle here for a long time to come. My social life however, has been another story. I thought that I would find someone I could call me own. A love that would always be beside me as we would take care of each other. But fate simply had other plans. Maybe there is someone out there that is really meant for me.

Then comes 2006, I feel like I'm starting over again. Making new friends and doing new stuff. And now I feel that I'm falling for someone all over again. We are as close as close can be. But I think that is someone else within that strong yet fragile heart of hers. Sometimes I want to tell her what I feel but I think that would turn her world into more chaos. I think she needs me more as a friend than anything more than that. And right now, I can live with that. As for how long, I do not know. But right now part of my personal goal is to see that she finds happiness in her life she so richly deserves...

So right now, I'm contemplating on my silence on these things... maybe until I reach clarity...

Bowling... Bowling... Bowling....

Had a chance to play bowling again... after a miserable average of just a shade below 100 (97 I think), I played two games where I had 155 and 129 pinfalls. I surprised even myself that time.

Me and my friends have been bowling since October of 2004, and even though I skipped attending sometime, Thursday evenings are always reserved as a bowling night. We usually play at Starmall, Shaw Boulevard. And I guess the people there know who we are because week after week we play up to 11pm (and even past 12 when everyone is in the mood... and have lots of cash in their pockets).

Bowling is really an addicting sport. You tend to challenge not only your opponents but yourself as well. You try to better your score with every game. We used to play for fun but we added some incentives such as the "loser pays for food" or pot money for every game. It is a bit competitive, but hey all our averages have gone up.

Me and My friends, invite you to bowl with us every thursday at StarMall, Shaw Boulevard. It is at the 4th floor. You can just ask where we are by asking the people who work there: "Asan mga taga- GimikNatin". Hope you could join us soon :D

'Twas a Good Week (with some Detestable Moments)

This past week has been really good, although there were some bumps along the way and some annoyances but I guess other than that, I was pretty much in a good mood.

Work
Although there was not much work to be done this week, which comprised mostly of documentation and some testing, most of my office time was immersed into C# and Linux training; although the lessons were concise and comprehensive, the presentation leaves a lot to be desired. I think I fell asleep a few times (heh heh). And I think this was one of the few times that I have not been given any scrubdown by my superiors. I did a lot of contributions, however little in some of the projects that I was assigned in. And I really felt that my expertise and experience was needed for that kind of job. And I felt really glad about it. Looking forward for the next working day is a feeling that I haven't had in a very long time.

Friends & Social Life
Had spent lunch and dinner with someone I haven't seen in a long time (well, except on television I guess). We got joined by another friend, and the result was a riot. We were spending so much fun that my 1 hour lunch break became 2 and a-half hours. And even after work we were still at it, whether it be an internet cafe or in some eatery. I have also spent time with some of my friends who work in makati at a coffee shop near our offices. We just spend an hour or two sharing stories and drinking hot coffee. Except last friday as I was going to that same coffee shop, I person I truly detest dropped by to show up. I decided not to go instead. But all week, that was the only thing really that really ruffled my feathers. Next week though there maybe more plans to party!

Home and Family
Well nothing much new with home. My mom, well... is my mom. My niece though is still as annoying as ever. Always asking me to buy her a new phone. Sometimes I do want to. But there are times when she acts really like a spoiled brat which makes me think otherwise. Oh well, I would observe her again in a few months or so if she deserves it. I have nothing to do much at home except rest, watch TV and surf the net. I really have been active in the office so I wind down in front of my PC when I am at home.

Lovelife
Big fat EGG... what else is new. So I just spend my time pouring out my heart in writing. It feels good though, even if it is just in my mind. Sometimes it is fun to escape reality even for a few moments. It keeps me sane. Though I had dreams of watching her being married to someone else. I was forcing myself to wake for the first time (heh heh).

And so my voyage for this week has been written... tomorrow is a new day, and a new voyage...

My Ode to a Bronze Goddess

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Flowing dark hair in the pale moonlight
Deep black pools as dark as the night
Intoxicating scent brings me to a trance
Gliding past my way in a graceful dance

Tanned Bronze skin that glistens in the light
I simply couldn't let her out of my sight
Melodic voice like the sirens I hear
Weakens my knees and drives me to tears

Standing from a distance here I stay
Watching my goddess from so far away
Frozen in time as I look into her eyes
Tearing the veil of hidden secrets and lies

Showing to the world how much she is strong
Cold and emotionless, how much they are wrong
Beneath that facade is a delicate flower
A lonely soul trapped in an endless tower

Here is the Goddess I protect and adore
Someone whom I'll give all my heart and more
She is the one who gives me my strength
When my morale is low and my body is spent

To the bronze goddess, I offer thee an ode
Grant that you keep it even at your abode
A poem I make for you, from deep within my heart
So even through my thoughts, we'd never be apart

On a good note!

Good Morning Everyone!

What a week... Full of ups and downs. I never felt that low in my life. It seems that every day something goes wrong within the workplace. And it also seems that I have been taking most of the flak with it. It made me re-assess my worth. I thought: "Am I really fit to be here? It looks like that everything I do seems to go wrong.".

Actually yesterday I felt that I was about to go to a major scrubdown but to my surprise everything went really well. Maybe I have been too hard on myself that I do blame myself every time. I guess this is just part of "growing pains" when you are in a new work environment. A guess in a few more weeks I would be truly settled here.

I guess things will get better from now on...

Food that Gets You in the Mood!

I was walking around the malls when I came across The Body Shop, and bought something there. It was about that time that a thought came to me. Well not as something to beautify your skin and hair, but about food. I suddenly remembered an article about this and I want to share it with you.

In ancient times, nutrition was a big concern. Poor nutrition affected both libido and fertility rates, and aphrodisiacs were sought out to not only remedy sexual anxiety or inadequate performance, but to increase fertility.

Foods that, by their nature, represented seed or semen, such as bulbs and eggs, were considered inherently to have sexual powers. Other types of foods were considered stimulating because of their physical resemblance to genitalia. In fact, aphrodisiac foods have been documented as early as the first century A.D. by the ancient Greeks.

Chocolate
The Aztecs and Mayans were the first to recognize the potency of chocolate, celebrating the harvest of the cacao bean with festivals of wild orgies. The Aztec ruler, Montezuma, reportedly drank 50 cups of chocolate each day to better serve his harem of 600 women (not all at once, I assume). You know what's tastiest under a drizzle of warm chocolate sauce? Skin.

Asparagus
The ancient "Law of Similarities" said that if one thing looks like another, it will improve what it resembles. As a phallic symbol, asparagus proves size doesn't matter! See if your lover can control himself when you lick Hollandaise sauce off individual spears and then nibble them one at a time.

Grapes
Marc Anthony wooed one of the most captivating women in the world with grapes (no, not J-Lo -- Cleopatra!), peeling each one and feeding her the individual juicy orbs. If you want to serve your lover grapes, lie down and place them one at a time in your navel.

Pine Nuts
These delicate, buttery nuts have been known to stimulate the libido since the second century. We now know they contain lots of zinc, a key mineral in the production of testosterone. You can bake them in cookies, or use them to make pesto. Or simply sprinkle a trail of pine nuts on your lover's body, and nibble your way home.

Honey
From the Kama Sutra to the Bible, honey has been connected with love, sex and sensuality. Ancient Egyptian remedies for sterility and impotence were based on honey. And of course the "honeymoon" is based on a Medieval tradition of newlyweds going into seclusion and drinking mead, a fermented drink made from honey until the first new moon of their marriage. Lipstick is icky but honey is yummy. Smear your lips with honey and give your lover a luscious kiss.

Vanilla
The scent and flavor of vanilla is believed to increase lust. According to the myths of the ancient Mexican Totanac culture, Xanat, the young daughter of the Mexican fertility goddess, loved a Totonac youth. Unable to marry him due to her divine nature, she transformed herself into a plant that would provide pleasure and happiness forevermore. You'll find lots of pleasure in a small carton of vanilla ice cream. Drop cool spoonfuls on warm skin, and lick the drips as it melts.

Libations
Alcoholic beverages have served throughout history as a basis for most love potions, masking the foul tastes of bizarre ingredients. Of course now we know a glass of wine, or a smooth cocktail relaxes us, lowers inhibitions and stimulates our senses. Try a Margarita you'll never forget. Sprinkle some salt on your lover's neck, and have him hold a wedge of lime in his teeth. Lick the salt from his neck, drink a shot of very smooth tequila and have him squeeze the lime in your mouth. Oh-lay.

Oysters
These seductive mollusks have been documented as an aphrodisiac for two thousand years. Glistening on the half-shell, with delicate petals of tender meat, is it any wonder they look sensually familiar? They also happen to be loaded with zinc, a key ingredient to testosterone production. In any case ladies, if your lover loves oysters, you're in luck! Tuck a pearl in your oyster, and let him go diving.

Every Little Thing...

Now here is a song I haven't heard in a while. It kinda brings back memories (heh heh). In the last year how many times I have heard this. I missed hearing it. It is a song first sang by the Police, in their album "Ghost in the Machine" (I even bought this CD when I was in Japan). It was also revived into an acoustic version, by our very own local band M.Y.M.P (Make Your Momma Proud). Well truly, "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic".

Though I've tried before to tell her
Of the feelings I have for her in my heart
Every time that I come near her
I just lose my nerve
As I've done from the start

Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she does just turns me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now I know my love for her goes on

Do I have to tell the story
Of a thousand rainy days since we first met
It's a big enough umbrella
But it's always me that ends up getting wet

Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she does just turns me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now I know my love for her goes on

I resolve to call her up a thousand times a day
And ask her if she'll marry me in some old fashioned way
But my silent fears have gripped me
Long before I reach the phone
Long before my tongue has tripped me
Must I always be alone?

Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she does just turns me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now I know my love for her goes on
